Pretty sweet Bar Routine.
Al Fong put this up.
Thanks to Rebecca Sykes who uploaded various parts of my course that I taught for the Icelandic Gymnastics Federation.
Here are some tumbling drills.
Consistently one of the biggest deductions on Uneven Bars is BENT ARMS. I hear coaches encourage, threaten, bribe, beg and cry to get their gymnasts arms straight. (OK- maybe not cry).
Gymnasts need to learn straight arms through series of drills and exercises on the floor and on floor bars. If they cannot keep their arms straight on that, they certainly cannot keep their arms straight as they move around the bar.
Here are some drills that we do daily to work straight arms.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Rebecca Sykes shared this great drill. We have all gotten stuck with a kid or two needing something to fill the gap in twisting.

Developmental Twisting Part 8.
Wow- It has been a LONG series of posts to get to here. Certainly not a complete list of drills.
We like to teach all twisting on tramp in 1/4 increments. EXAMPLE: In order for a gymnast to know where a 1 1/2 is to punch front or step out of, they need to know where 1 1/4 is to prepare to punch.
This video shows a gymnast twisting up. Doing a layout 1/1 twist and then doing jump 1/4 turns. In the course of twisting I believe that it is important to also twist back down. This is another thing we do to help kids from getting “the twisties”
